■Product Description
Most motorcycle engines control valve opening and closing with a camshaft and valve springs.
The desmodromic head is a mechanism that forcibly opens and closes the valves with a specially shaped camshaft. It only has a spring to keep the valves sealed and no valve springs, so surging does not occur. A key feature is the extremely low friction involved in camshaft drive.
The cylinder head for the Monkey has a twin-cam 4-valve specification, with an intake valve diameter of 22mm and an exhaust valve diameter of 19mm.
Eight rocker arms and two camshafts are cleverly arranged within the limited stud bolt pitch space of the Monkey.
The upper (opening) rocker arms are machined from billet, and the lower (closing) rocker arms are machined from billet and partially forged to improve strength.
The specially shaped camshaft, which has opening and closing cam lobes on a single shaft, has weight-reducing cutouts on the sides of the cam lobes to achieve a lighter weight.
The smooth increase in RPM provides a different feeling from previous Monkey engines.

■Precautions
*This cylinder head can only be used with engines and vehicles that match the specifications listed in the specification data sheet. If there are any incompatible parts, please replace them with compatible parts.
*Please replace the sprocket according to the output and specifications.
*The spark plug type will change. Please replace it with the dedicated type. Also, please set the heat range according to the burning condition.
*Always use a torque wrench and work according to the specified torque. (A torque wrench is absolutely necessary.)
*We strongly discourage combining this product with parts from other manufacturers.
*The product may have edges or protrusions. Always wear work gloves when performing work.
(Even if there are photos in the instruction manual showing work being done without gloves, please wear work gloves when working.)
*Install an engine tachometer and always use the product below the specified engine RPM.
*Always use high-octane gasoline (Research Octane Number 97 or higher).
*The contents and specifications described may change without notice due to product improvements. Please be aware of this in advance.
*This product is limited to C.D.I. ignition vehicles. It cannot be used with point ignition vehicles. Also, ignition systems other than those made by SP Takegawa cannot be used.
*If purchased as a cylinder head kit, this product cannot be used independently.
*This part is developed for closed-course competition and cannot be used on public roads.
*Idling should be kept to the duration of waiting at a traffic light at most, and prolonged idling should be avoided. Idling in still air can cause the engine temperature to rise, which may lead to a decrease in engine oil circulation function.
*Engine heat generation increases with higher engine output. We recommend installing an oil cooler kit to maintain appropriate oil temperature and prevent oil film breakage that occurs at high temperatures. Furthermore, installing a super oil pump kit can further enhance the performance of the oil cooler.
*Periodically re-tighten the head nuts of the stud bolts to the specified torque.
*Due to the higher RPM achieved with the installation of this product, we recommend simultaneous installation with SP Takegawa's crankshaft support adapter.
*Always use new gaskets and seals. (Worn or damaged parts can cause engine trouble.)
*The spark plug size is different from the normal one. A dedicated 13mm socket plug wrench is required. Takegawa part number: 00-00-0247 Plug Socket 13mm (included with full kit)
