■Detailed Description
●Features of Super Head 4V+R (1-Cam, 4-Valve)
Compared to the large-diameter 2-valve of SP Takegawa's Super Head +R, the Super Head 4V+R uses two intake valves and two exhaust valves, further expanding the valve curtain area and achieving higher intake and exhaust efficiency than large-diameter 2-valve systems.
In addition, with the adoption of 4 valves, the cylinder head shape has been designed to balance the center plug, valve挟み角 (valve angle), combustion chamber shape, and port shape, enabling high output and achieving the sustained output characteristics at high RPM, which is the greatest feature of the Super Head.
By adopting a 1-cam, 4-valve system, it has been possible to achieve the lightest and most compact design possible, while condensing the performance as the strongest SOHC head.
●New Super Head 4V+R Unit
The rounded cylinder head design suits the Monkey style well and enhances the custom image of the vehicle.
In addition, the barrel-polished die-cast head covers beautifully enhance the cylinder head.
●Valve Features
Valve diameter: Intake: 21.5mm x 2 / Exhaust: 18.5mm x 2
Valve stem shaft diameter: 4.0mm for both intake and exhaust.
●Valve Spring
Uneven pitch is used to prevent surging at high RPM.
●IN/EX Port Features
The port diameter is optimized to match SP Takegawa's 3D manifold.
When installed simultaneously with the 3D manifold, it enables smooth intake from the carburetor to the combustion chamber without resistance, maximizing the performance of the cylinder head.
●Adoption of Roller Rocker Arm
By adopting a roller rocker arm, the output performance of the Super Head +R is maximized, increasing output in the mid-to-high RPM range and maintaining output in the high RPM range, a characteristic of roller rocker arms.
Roller rocker arms reduce frictional resistance with the camshaft that occurs in slipper-type rocker arms (OEM type).
With built-in roller bearings, the camshaft profile is smoothly followed from low to high RPM.
●M8 Spark Plug
Due to the optimized valve angle for 4 valves and the compact head, an M8 spark plug is adopted.
●Hollow Camshaft with Oil Jet (Auto Decompression)
An oil line is provided in the center of the camshaft to guide oil to the cam sprocket.
This improves the durability and lubrication effect of the cam chain.
In addition, an oil jet passage is provided on the camshaft cam surface, allowing oil to be sprayed from the cam surface onto the rocker arm, effectively providing cooling and lubrication.
The camshaft journal features ball bearing support at both ends, reducing frictional resistance to the camshaft during startup and at low speeds.
Auto Decompression Function: Even with large displacement engines, the engine can be started with light kicking force.
●Piston
A cast piston is adopted, and the piston skirt is molybdenum-coated to improve initial break-in.
*For 124cc, a forged piston is available as an optional part.
●Ceramic Plated Cylinder
SCUT Cylinder (Patented structure) Bore diameter 57mm
An all-aluminum ceramic-plated cylinder with excellent durability, airtightness, and heat dissipation is adopted.
The cylinder comes standard with a temperature sensor mounting point.
By purchasing an SP Takegawa meter with a built-in thermometer or a thermometer, you can measure the cylinder temperature.
The SCUT cylinder is equipped with an oil jet mechanism.
Oil is continuously injected onto the inner wall of the cylinder, the piston skirt, and the inner wall of the piston during engine operation, enabling efficient lubrication and cooling.
