■Detailed Description
●Special Clutch Kit (TYPE-R)
The TYPE-R specification reduces rotating mass weight while increasing clutch capacity through a 6-disc design.
●Die-cast aluminum right crankcase cover
The right crankcase cover is made of die-cast aluminum.
The cover surface is silver painted.
The right crankcase cover is designed to be used with both wet and dry clutches.
Even after purchasing a Special Clutch (wet type), it can be converted to a dry clutch.
*Conversion requires the separate purchase of SP Takegawa specified parts.
●Forged aluminum clutch cover (wire type)
The wire-type clutch uses the highly-regarded rack and pinion system for light and smooth operation.
The cover is made of forged aluminum and has a shot-blasted surface.
Even after installing the Special Clutch, clutch springs, clutch plates, and clutch friction discs can be easily replaced by removing the clutch cover.
●Large oil filler cap
The enlarged oil filler port makes oil changes easy.
Made of die-cast aluminum with chrome plating.
●Built-in oil element
Filters impurities such as sludge and metal wear particles in the oil.
Removing impurities from the oil helps maintain engine output.
The oil element uses a reliable cartridge-type paper filter.
●With oil level check window
Allows easy checking of the oil level.
The engine oil check window uses durable glass.
●6-disc reinforced clutch (slipper clutch specification)
●Clutch unit change
By changing from the normal crankshaft (primary side) to the transmission main shaft (secondary side), the load on the crankshaft is reduced, and the crankshaft axis weight can be lightened, resulting in nimble throttle response.
●6-disc specification
Compared to conventional products, by reducing the diameter of rotating parts such as the clutch outer, it reduces horsepower loss due to oil diffusion, further improves response, and reduces rotating mass weight by approximately 12%, efficiently transmitting engine power.
Achieves a 6-disc design with six friction discs.
This increases clutch capacity by approximately 20% compared to conventional products, making it compatible with high-output engines.
●Slipper clutch (standard equipment)
Alleviates the shock of sudden engine braking during downshifts at high RPMs.
This reduces sudden changes in posture, rear wheel hopping, and stress on the engine.
●Slipper clutch structure
A dedicated pressure plate and clutch cam are installed in the clutch section.
Back torque transmitted from the rear wheel is transferred to the clutch cam, activating the pressure plate cam and clutch cam, which pushes down the pressure plate to create a semi-clutched state, releasing the back torque.
●Clutch outer
Built-in rubber damper to reduce shock to gears, etc., when the clutch is engaged.
●Die-cast aluminum lifter plate
●Clutch spring
Excellent fatigue resistance, achieving a stable clutch feel.
●TAF 5-speed cross transmission kit
This cross transmission further improves durability and operability while retaining the good features of existing SP Takegawa 5-speed cross transmissions.
By adopting a shift fork with special surface treatment and ensuring tooth width in line with a shorter stroke, durability has been improved.
Additionally, the gears feature a tapered shape at the engaging part, similar to the SS5-speed, which improves shift feel and enhances protection against malfunctions such as gear slippage.
